Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

Children of all the schools exchange experiences and information, through photos, drawings, videos and other tools, about their school context, themselves and the various common situations they live at school ;show each other and compare their way to be citizens in Europe and pick up differences and similarities.

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

The project idea has been conceived in collaboration with the partner school teacher and developed by the following schools: Gina Antonietta Mango -Filomena Donato: ICS "Don Bosco" di Francavilla in Sinni - Plesso Primaria "A. Ciancia", Francavilla in Sinni (PZ), Italia; Katarzyna Ernest-Małecka - Jarosława Pyrzyk - Tamara Żuchowska: Szkoła Podstawowa nr 11 im. Pabla Nerudy w Toruniu, Toruń, Polonia. The purpose of the project is to guide the children to the gradual consciousness of being little European citizens and school with the same needs, rights and duties of their pair in the other countries.Children of all the schools exchange experiences and information, through photos, drawings, videos and other tools, about their school context, themselves and the various common situations they live at school. They show each other and compare their way to be citizens in Europe and pick up differences and similarities .All that in a most wider educational contest where they work together to achieve correct habits of behaviour. The most innovative and creative elements of the project are the comparison with foreign pupils and teachers, the usage of English language and of ICT to communicate and to make multimedia productions and of the Twinspace and other tools available on web to share them. The collaboration with the colleague in the partner school is intense and constant in all the phases of the project thanks to the usage of emails and of the twinspace. We collaborate in the planning of the modules and in the realization of the expected activities and often the collaboration goes over the project activities and also provide exchanges of letters and didactic materials. In many particular cases ,students exchange each other letters, cards and other to be completed by snail mail. Students and teachers of all the schools work together on the twinspace ,both in a complementary that parallel way, and exchanged and compared what they make through the publishing on the twinspace of videos , images and little texts.

Objectives and Innovative Aspects

The project promotes the achievement of important objectives in order to European citizenship: promoting the consciousness of being European citizens - Comparing differences and similarities – improving Language competences – improving the usage of ICT.As the project was developed in an etwinning school team ,all the activities , absolutely integrated in the subject curriculum, were planned and made in collaboration with the school colleague referring everything to the lessons we teach. We chose together the topics, the activities, the tools and worked together in the classroom with the children. The involved school subjects are; Citizenship and Constitution/social Studies, Italian, English, Geography, Art, Informatics.
The project is organized in different but complementary modules and the phases of our works are the followings:
Exchange of information about their own school context – Exchange of information about themselves – comparison of different contexts and information and highlighting of differences and similarities- exchange of different way to solve similar situations in the different schools . We take photos and produce drawings about all activities carried out, then we scan and used them with voices and music to create videos using Windows Movie Maker that finally we uploaded on You tube and embed in the twinspace blog or web content tool. In detail the tools we used are : hardware( PC, IWB, scanner, Digital Audio Recorder, camera, Data traveler ),different software (PDF, PowerPoint, Widows Movie Maker to make videos video with photos and drawings), Publication on web ( You Tube, Tripwow Animoto…), TwinSpace ( blogs, forum, web content, file archive, image gallery, wiki on which we create a space for common activities).

Results

Describe the results achieved by your project How do you measure (parameters) these. (max. 2000 characters):
The most relevant general result is the discovery of the possibility for teachers and students to collaborate with other schools improving knowledge and competences. In particular we highlight:  Refinement of the teacher’s class team’s capability to collaborate, co-operate and interact each other and with the other school operators and different school methodologies and organizations and the improvement of their competences in the usage of the ICT and English Language.  Definitely positive results with the children: they feel themselves and all the partners as European citizens and can share each other feelings, sensations, experiences and information and compare them picking up differences and similarities through the usage of the English Language and of the new technologies. Otherwise, Without any doubt the collaboration with the class partner enriched and improved the project whether for the most accurate organization or for the more variety of the activities and tools.

Background Information

Barriers and Solutions (max. 1000 characters):
In fact we did not have particular difficulties, the project was easily implemented in schools and most of the partners have actively participated in various initiatives proposed. The only drawback: the lack of classroom technology equipment suitable for a more active and direct collaboration and communication between pupils from different schools.
Future plans and wish list (max. 750 characters):
For the future we would like to continue with this project or activate a similar one and program and implement joint activities without charge due to technological deficiencies. We Need some small grant to equip the classroom with tablet for pupils. Organizing physical exchanges between partner students and teachers would be, however, the main ambition.

Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

All types of school collaborate all together , through Music, around the same topic.

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

The project idea and the aim had origin from the will of teachers of different grade of school to make work that unites all types of school (pre-primary, primary and low secondary school). As our Low Secondary School is a school music-oriented and our students are individually guided to learn to play 4 musical instruments, music will be the pivot of its various activities. Many teachers of our and of the partner schools are involved (Pietro Cantisani- Maria Rachele Ciancia - Beatrice David_:ICS "Don Bosco" di Francavilla in Sinni - Plesso Secondaria di I Grado, Francavilla in Sinni (PZ), Italia; Gina Antonietta Mango– Filomena Donato - Mariangela Placanico - Angela Maria Tricarico – Ciancia Innocenza – Martino Giuseppina: ICS "Don Bosco" di Francavilla in Sinni - Plesso Primaria "A. Ciancia", Francavilla in Sinni (PZ), Italia; Anna Maria Fortunato: ICS "Don Bosco" di Francavilla in Sinni - Plesso dell'Infanzia "G. Rodari", Francavilla in Sinni (PZ), Italia; K.Belgin Saka Üstünel :YENİ TURAN İLKOKULU, ANKARA, Turchia; Thomas Duggan: St. Brendan's N.S., Co. Kilkenny, Irlanda.)In its development some small melodies, inclusive of chord for the accompaniment , will be produced by the pupils. On these “shared notes” each partner will create rhymes, poems, games, sequences of words and numbers. The music , produced in digital format (midi or audio), may be also used as a background for animations of stories and tales.. Through all that, children are guided to achieve different abilities in various primary school subjects , the improvement of their taste and of their abilities in Music and to the functional usage of English Language and new technologies. The most innovative and creative elements of the project are the comparison with foreign pupils and teachers, the usage of ICT to communicate, as well as the usage of the twinspace .

Objectives and Innovative Aspects

The works are always integrated in the curriculum of the involved subjects. The main subject objectives are:
Cooperating with pupils and teachers of schools of all levels and from different European Countries ( Social studies /Citizenship and Constitution) - Producing music and singing songs ( Music)-Producing texts about the various disciplines on the provided music (Italian, English, Maths, Science)-Producing drawings and other art works (Art) -Creating multimedia productions to share on web and on the twinspace (Informatics) -Comparing activities and ways of working and highlighting similarities and differences ( Social studies / Citizenship and Constitution). Our Secondary school teacher produces music and arranged our partners productions using Makemusic Finale o Sibelius, Garageband. The other partners take photos and produce drawings about all our activities carried out, then they scan and use them with voices and music to create videos, using Windows Movie Maker finally uploaded on You tube and embedded in the twinspace blog or web content tool.In detail the tools we use are : hardware( PC, scanner, Digital Audio Recorder, camera, videocamera, Data traveller, Interactive Whiteboard ),different software (Makemusic Finale o Sibelius, Garageband ,PowerPoint, Widows Movie Maker, Paint, Word), Internet (You Tube, Vimeo, Spicynodes, Tripwow, Animoto), TwinSpace. The purpose of the project is to guide teachers and children to the gradual and conscious discovery of the utility of the collaboration among different levels of schools for the achievement of common objectives. Starting from that main point, we work promoting subjects knowledge through activities linked on the musical theme and promoting and consolidating through it, in order to the age and the peculiarities of the children, knowledge and abilities related to the various levels of schools.

Results

Describe the results achieved by your project How do you measure (parameters) these. (max. 2000 characters):
The most relevant general result is the discovery of the possibility to pass all the subject knowledge related to the project topic using Music and English language and to share and compare everything with the foreign partners using English language and the new technologies. In particular we highlight:  Refinement of the teachers capability to collaborate and to co-operate and interact with the other school operators and with other school methodologies. In particular, the improvement of their competences in Music and in the usage of the ICT and of English language. Motivation for the children that show interest for all the musical activities and discover the possibility to learn and achieve the subject objectives working around Music. Working at the project they also improve their abilities in English language and in the usage of the ICT, through which they compare their discoveries and interests with the partners. The criteria We used to evaluate the results is the observation of the improvement of children’s motivation in all the provided project activities and the consequent achieved abilities .

Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

Twinbus Travel Agency is an eTwinning project. It was a interdisciplinary project so it involved several study objects: Art, Foreign Languages, Geography, History, Informatics / ICT, Language and Literature, Mathematics / Geometry, Media Education, Technology. The main aim of the Project is learning about important places to visit in project’s partner countries

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

The aim of the Project is learning about important places to visit in project’s partner countries. The students present to their partners typical or important places for their country, capitals, places for spending holidays, places they live. They also learn about history, legends, food, monuments, typical architecture for chosen places. They create a virtual travel agency and as travel agents they want to attract partners-travelers to visit their country. The students also plan a trip to the partner’s country, ask for suggestions and ,,go” a virtual trip. They learn how to find information on the Internet for developing their critical thinking and learning skills. Students works in groups, so they can develop their social skills, communication and problem solving.
Beside that they became familiar with ICt and different web 2.0 tools.
We decided to choose tools familiar to our student ( PPT, Google Docs, PictureTrail, zondle ) to let them create their own materials for the project and for school subjects as well. Using of particular ICT tools was very important for us and we discussed them before using when we started to plan the project. Every time we focus on aesthetic of created materials, so we used tools they could help us achieve this aim.

Objectives and Innovative Aspects

To exchange information about children's living places, to practice their communication and collaboration skills, to work in group, to improve their emotional intelligence skill, to prove critical thinking and autonomy, to become familiar and attracted with other European cultures and enhance the understanding and knowledge of them, to encourage pupils to learn to know and respect each other, to broaden minds due to online cooperation between the schools, to develop the entrepreneurial skills.
The project was a good opportunity for the students involved to accomplish the pedagogical aims. All the materials and products uploaded on the blog prove this.

Results

Describe the results achieved by your project How do you measure (parameters) these. (max. 2000 characters):
The project was a great oportunity for developing the 21st Century skills to our students. We used TS, google drive and blogger for carrying out the tasks and a seamless communication flow and that proved that project work could be used in learning. In all tasks and activities we used technology and this helped students work in project based and inquiry based learning and using these methods fostered students creativity while carrying out the activities. The students did the activities and tasks in their own pace and that helped them learn how to learn new things in Personalized learning method. We used The TwinSpace as a learning platform and that was certainly an innovation. We invited parents to take part in some activities and share results with them too. Finally since the students worked in teams with a teacher responsible with them gave them the opportunity to work in collaborative learning style. Using ICT and 2.0 web tools enabled students to understand how technology can be used to work creatively, effectively and in a time saving way. All the aspects mentioned above proves that the project is both innovative and has positive pedagogical effects on students and teachers involved in. The projects has awarded with the Quality Label in QL in Cyprus, Poland, Greece,Spain, Romania and Portugal and national prizes in Cyprus, Poland and Portugal. The Romanian team participated in MATHEXPERIENCE international competition -the section for young students with their Mathematics quiz created for TTA partners and they won the first place.
How many users interact with your project monthly and what are the preferred forms of interaction? (max. 500 characters):

We created some final products: the dictionary, the booklet, the journal. We are a team because we met each during one Comenius visit and at the European eTwinning conference. The pupils knew each other from the photos, the presentation and online meetings we had organized. They were young children but they visited with their teacher the TwinSpace and the project’s blog and they could share their work and their experience with the other partners involved into the project.
The projects’ blog has more than 17. 100 visits, 9 members and a lot of comments appreciated our work and materials.

What lessons can others learn from your project? (max. 1500 characters):

The project is appropriate for young children because it is related to their age and interests. They love travelling so they were motivated and they had a lot of fun working for all project activities. They made new friends and they found new partners. They developed their communication and their ICT skills. They proved critical thinking and creativity. The teachers improved their teaching skills and methods. They shared good practice and experience. All the materials are available on the external blog and in the TwinSpace. The team involved in the project can be sustained by the other classes and they can take part into the project too. We could invite older children to be partners and they could contribute to the final products too as we are very young and we need help in reading and writing. The project’s TS and blog can be used by other teachers and students in Pre-primary and Primary class lessons and activities.

Are you available to help others to start or work on similar projects?:
Yes

Background Information

Barriers and Solutions (max. 1000 characters):
We did not face many problems in the project because the participant teachers used to work before in some projects. The project was developed in consultation between the founders and the partner schools. We worked according to the plan: each activity has it s plan uploaded on the TS. We used emails and Google Docs to cooperate and establish goals and planned collaboration. The children and their parents also added their ideas to the project.
Future plans and wish list (max. 750 characters):
We are planning to apply for an Erasmus+ grant on a project idea based on our TTA. We want to find a way for students to meet each other and to make them collaborate and work in face to face meetings. We are still using the strategies and materials uploaded on the project's blog and I am presenting the products in teacher's meetings and teachers' trainings as I am a trainer and a mentor too.

Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

You Tube, incontri pubblici (http://internetsenzapaura.blogspot.it/2015/02/nella-giornata-del-10-febb...)

Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

21 Schools from 14 european countries worked together in this project to show each other what everyone should know about their country: enjoy!

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

The students of all participant schools (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slowakia, Slowenia, Spain, Turkey) present those aspects that, in their opinion, all should know about their own country. They work on a common Website http://project14-15.weebly.com/ The students of all involved schools are free to choose the aspects of their countries they want the others to know, and the ICT tools to present them. For this reason, this is a cross-curricular project, with many subjects included (Geography, History, Music, Art, Economics, German, English....) as both the facts the students want to introduce and the way of presentation have to be chosen by the students themselves (Video, photos, art, potcast...). The project also wants to be a significant contribution to the idea of Inclusion/inclusive education: every student of every schooltype is welcome and every participant contributes in his own way.

How long has your project been running?

Objectives and Innovative Aspects

In our peculiar situation (Italian school), the project is included in an experimental pathway of teaching Geography without the use of a textbook. This is the project I chose for my younger students, as it is quite simple and enjoyable at different levels, plus it exactly matches the national curricula requirements for this age. As for the project as a whole, we set these objectives with our partners: students should get competences in 1) researching about their own country in different subjects (famous/special landscapes, famous music, historical persons...) - 2) finding ways to present their results/ideas to other students in other countries in an understandable and attractive way, using German or English as foreign language and different ICT-tools - 3) using and working with different ICT-tools like video, potcasting, audio, photo editing, photostory, (...) and building and creating a Wiki - 4) communicating with others by twinspace-tools (chat, mail...) and for example skype, using their knowledges in foreign languages. - 5) giving feedback to the contributions of their partners, working further with results of their partners they found on the common Wiki.

Results

Describe the results achieved by your project How do you measure (parameters) these. (max. 2000 characters):
The project got excellent results in terms of students' engagement and motivation. All of them contributed to the common website, browsed the partners' materials, took the tests and quizzes prepared by the different teams, did further research to introduce their countries or get to know better those of the others. Students with special needs, migrants, natives, students coming from disadvantaged social situations, brilliant students... all of them found their way to give a significant contribution. Immigrants were particularly excited, as for once they had something more to say than the others, as they got a different perspective on their two countries (the one they came from, the one they live now). Different intelligences were cared for as the students could choose their media of expression (not only words but also visuals, music, etc). The project got excellent results also in terms of students' attainment in the national tests. In my involved class, all of the 27 students passed the standard Geography tests with good grades. The criteria of evaluation are chosen by the Geography Department and take into consideration the improving of the pupil's situation from the start to the end of the school year, the use of the specific language, the competence in orientation, the proper use of ICT, the understanding of the realation between a territory and its population/history. Another important result of our project is the website itself: it is a valuable collection of information prepared by kids for kids. It is website that all schools, everywhere in the world, could use for free as a database of teaching material for many subjects (geography, music, art, history...).
How many users interact with your project monthly and what are the preferred forms of interaction? (max. 500 characters):

21 schools are involved in the project, and we can estimate an average of 1000 students being involved monthly with the project (either working on the website or exploring it). Plus, their families, their schools and their local communities are involved and regularly take part in the dissemination events. So a huge number of people contributes to the success of the project - either by being an actor (students, teachers) or part of the audience (families, municipalities...).

What lessons can others learn from your project? (max. 1500 characters):

It's a simple project but with lots of opportunities for pupils and teachers. Basically, the students are let free to explore their countries and tell the others what they think it's worth knowing. A great way to overcome prejudices: you introduce yourself, you answer to your partners' questions, and viceversa - you know the others by their introductions and by asking them about themselves. Other schools could learn than you can innovate, presenting subjects for real, not only through books, at zero cost. Then, once they're engaged, students will turn to books (or most likely to the web) to know more. But they will already have some basis of critical thinking. Moreover, as stated before, other schools in the world can use for free the teaching material available in our website. It is particularly interesting as all af the materials are produced by kids in order to speak to other kids: for this reason, they are probably the best way to introduce a subiect in a way that's both appealing to the students and easy to understand for them. All of this, at zero cost!

Are you available to help others to start or work on similar projects?:
Yes

Background Information

Barriers and Solutions (max. 1000 characters):
No obstacles that cannot be overcome by common sense and mutual help. The coordinators of the projects were great and helped us in the use of ICT tools, or for working on the common website, or for communicating (not so easy when you've got 21 schools involved). One obstacle could be that some teachers (and also some students, to be honest) are still scared of ICT tools. But if you browse the pages and stop to Italy, you will be amazed at how the students improved in ICT in time: they actually started with an hand-written ebook, then got to ppt and eventually to videos and avatars. This kind of teaching is time-consuming and needs to be planned in detail, but once you are in, there's nothing that cannot be solved. Note: the entire homepage of our site was accidentally deleted a number of times! What happened? nothing, the coordinators laughed at it and just rebuilt it. Then they told us how to avoit deleting everything again. This kind of "disasters" may happen and they will. But you just have to choose wisely your team and you'll be fine.
Future plans and wish list (max. 750 characters):
We will definitely go on with this kind of project-based teaching. We hope we'll be able to involve more classes in the future. We also hope we'll go on working with at least some of our partners.

Orto come ponte tra ambienti reali, fantastici e virtuali

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

European students to the world via food and ICT: are we really what we eat?

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

Students from Italy, Greece and Hungary explore their own and each other’s countries, and then the whole world, as seen through the food that is eaten in the different places. Their journey is a virtual one, but the exchange of experiences is real, with regular meetings via Skype, and a blog http://secondagineuropa.blogspot.it/ a TwinSpace http://twinspace.etwinning.net/1291/home and the EXPO2015 community http://www.togetherinexpo2015.it/ as meeting points. In their journey through the world, students find out that the food of a country can tell us a lot about its natural environment, history, economy and even religion. The project, which was born out of the urge to find an alternative to the traditional book in Geography teaching, soon developed into something more: Geography learned not by reading a book or watching a documentary, but by meeting and making friends with peers from abroad. Geography not as a list of data about a country but as something alive, told by those who live in those countries. The partners in the project were three, but the EXPO2015 website gave us the opportunity to meet students from all over the world. The blog SecondaGiNeuropa got more than 11.000 visits in a bunch of months, and the students published around 400 articles. We tried out some simple exercises of flipped classroom: students had to work in groups to present an aspect of a chosen country via food, choosing an ICT tool from a list given by the teacher: the tool-testing had to be performed at home, the realization of the product and the publishing in the blog or TwinSpace at school, in a given time. All of the teams (first national, then international teams) managed to complete the tasks, boosting their creativity (thus their learning) in the process. The involved classes registered a dramatic increase in basic competences in Geography (in attachment, the graphics). It was a very successful project in terms of development of students’ competences via the use of ICT.

Objectives and Innovative Aspects

At first, our objective as teachers was to find an alternative to the use of the text book in the teaching of Geography. We wanted to prove that Geography can stop being felt by students as boring (having to learn by heart the names of mountains, lakes, rivers, capitals etc.) and it can be transformed in a subject perceived for what it is: a picture of real places, inhabited by real people, with their stories, culture, ideas. Later on through the project we started working on the idea of the EU as a an union of different countries, that yet have something in common and support each other (a very important topic at the moment!). Of course, we had all the objectives connected with the subject of Geography: correct use of the specific language of the subject, understanding the anthropic and natural elements in a territory, respect of natural resources, understanding European common roots, understanding the relationship between natural environment – economy – history of a country. We also had objectives linked to the use of ICT: understanding the correct use of a tool, being able to respect copyrights, understanding the opportunities and risks of the web. The means used to reach those goals are ICT tools, peer learning, team working (in national and international teams), simple experiences in flipped classroom. The use of ICT tools was kept as free as possible in order to boost creativity. This trick turned the tasks into fun and soon the blog became addictive for the students! Eventually, all of the objectives were attained, at different levels, by all the students.

Results

Describe the results achieved by your project How do you measure (parameters) these. (max. 2000 characters):
The most important result is obviously the students learning: in my school we have standardized tests at the beginning, middle term and end of the school year. The Italian involved classes improved dramatically from the starting level to the end of the school year in Geography. And the comparison between involved/not involved classes is striking: this is an evidence that a methodology based on real interaction of students with peers of different countries + creative use of ICT + use of different means of expression (to care for the different intelligences, also visual or kinesthetic, etc… not only linguistic) is successful as more motivating, and definitely beats the chalk and talk. I consider another great result the fact that the students chose to spend their free time at home interacting with their partners in the TwinSpace, posting in the blog, completing team missions in the EXPO2015 community, instead of being on facebook or other uncontrolled (i.e. unsafe) socials. This expanded their school-time with a positive rebound on their learning. The criteria used to evaluate the results, as well as those established by the Literature/History/Geography department for the standardized tests, are the comparison between classes involved in the project versus classes not involved + number of classes involved in the first year versus number of classes willing to join in the project for the second year. We have evidence that the involved classes perform significantly better even in the standardized (more traditional) tests. And while this year in Italy we had two involved classes, we have another six willing to join in for the next year (plus, around 10 European school as potential partners).
How many users interact with your project monthly and what are the preferred forms of interaction? (max. 500 characters):

We have 2 Italian classes + 2 teachers, 1 Hungarian class + 2 teachers, 1 Greek class + 2 teachers: about 100 students + 6 teachers. The families show a good participation, take part in all of the dissemination events, and so do the different Municipalities of the involved schools. The blog has a good amount of monthly visitors, both from our schools (students of non-involved classes browsing the blog for their studies) and from all over the world, presumably thank to the EXPO2015 activities (see the chart on the top right of the blog homepage to see the different nationalities of visitors).

What lessons can others learn from your project? (max. 1500 characters):

They can reuse our working plan for the teaching of Geography, as other classes will in our school for the next school year. They can see that we cannot teach Geography as they did in 1900. Today, Geography is both more complex and more exciting, as there’s the whole world of knowledge in it (from Science to Technology, from Economics to History, from Natural Sciences to Biology). We want our students to taste a little bit of each. So we have to introduce the subject in a way that it is felt as alive: cooperating with partners from different nationalities, learning by doing and exchanging, working in teams, preferably international teams, getting first-hand information from those who live in a different country, feeling free to explore the countries and the ICT tools to get to know first, and then present them. We chose food as the leading image in our journey, but other themes can be chosen of course. It is the journey that matters. Other schools and teachers can see that, even if we don’t use traditional means (test book, individual study, traditional essays, etc.), our students get more involved, so they perform better even in traditional tests.

Are you available to help others to start or work on similar projects?:
Yes

Background Information

Barriers and Solutions (max. 1000 characters):
There are no obstacles to this kind of methodology. It’s just very time-consuming, so teachers have to know that if their students get involved and write down 400 articles, they’ll have to give their feedback to 400 articles (not the 25 essays you have to correct twice a semester in a traditional teaching). Plus, the team activities should be well planned in advance, to avoid having one student doing all the work and the others play (the teacher has to think about different roles for the students to choose in the group). Planning the project and the dissemination with partners is time consuming as well. And you have to know lots of ICT tools to keep the students motivated and entertained (a playful atmosphere is of great help!). But everything can be easily overcome with collaboration (also teachers have their share of peer learning!). There are neither extra costs nor extra hours needed. Everything can be done in normal school time, inside the curriculum.
Future plans and wish list (max. 750 characters):
We are planning to widen the project next year, opening it to new partners from different countries and more classes in our school. We expect a huge participation as a consequence of this year’s brilliant results (families are pushing for their kids to be involved in the project). We will create a new blog and open a new eTwinning project as a follow up. Everything will be kept, as for this year, in the curriculum and in the normal school-time. We do not need any funding or anything special, as it’s an innovative kind of teaching that just needs a pc room and some tablets, plus motivated teachers, not an expensive plan of buying any complicated or futuristic technology. In the long run, we want to introduce an innovative, evidence-supported methodology, for the teaching of Geography, widening it to institutes in our net, bot in Italy and in Europe.

Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

With this project we will try to find some solutions for the children affected by the maternal absence or the children who do not enjoy their mothers’ presence enough.

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

Motto: “Some time ago I used to draw like an adult. But it took me my whole life to be able to draw like a child….”
We all know that ‘Mother’ is the most important person in the world for every child. But what happens in children’s hearts when their mothers have to go to work in another country and they are left with their grandparents? What about the situation when a mother abandons her children and the little ones are raised by foster parents, or the situation when the family is falling apart, and the children do not really know what parent to choose to live with.
There is a powerful relationship between each child and his/ her mother. A mother always knows her child’s pain and what he/ she thinks in different situations. A mother gives life to her child, loves him/ her unconditionally, takes care of him/her, forgives the child if he/she has done something wrong. The mothers’ involvement in the extracurricular activities of their children changed the kids’ behaviour. The mothers’ behaviour also changed as they realized that it is very important for a mother to spend active time with her child.
This project was a wonderful opportunity for the children, their parents and the teachers to interact, to know each other better, to discover and to improve the children’s skills.

Objectives and Innovative Aspects

This project aimed to show how they can involve families (mother, father and grandparents) in the school life of children in different schools in different countries. Show that there are different realities but there are also points that intersect. Grandparents who sometimes replace the mothers, fathers who are separated, broken families that the school sometimes helps integrate. The project brought the family to school in all institutions and was very good to note that the oldest had here an important role in the knowledge they transmitted to younger valuing the role of families. Mothers, fathers and grandparents taught their students games of his childhood, shared life stories enriching and enhancing the knowledge across generations.
1. To streng then mother-child relationship
2. To help the future development of young people in a balanced, harmonious way
3. To involve mothers / guardians in children's school and extracurricular activities

Results

Describe the results achieved by your project How do you measure (parameters) these. (max. 2000 characters):
The biggest impact of the project was related to the full involvement of families in school life and the promotion and enhancement of the wisdom of generations. Also noteworthy that the children realize the importance that the family represents also to colleagues from other countries, their similarities and differences making them aware of their membership status to a European community where they speak different languages but where everyone in some form can communicate. All the partners cooperated in order to create an e-book of traditional games from every country. Mothers relived their childhood, and the pupils learned interesting games. The children and their mothers participated in theme shows, exhibitions and creative workshops and the relationship between them was great.
How many users interact with your project monthly and what are the preferred forms of interaction? (max. 500 characters):

In this project interact online monthly children and teachers from 7 European countries: Romania, Portugal, Bulgaria, Poland, Italy, Greece and Turkey. Children and mothers in Romania involved in this project exceeds 150. They meet face to face in different activities and online with other partners on the project website.

Where? By whom?:
This project can be developed / adapted in any country and in any school that emphasizes parental involvement in school life of students. Fortunately there are many teachers who want to change their way of teaching. They are collaborating with European partners and find new ways to integrate this project in their classroom.
What lessons can others learn from your project? (max. 1500 characters):

The project has changed for the better behavior of mothers, but also on the children and not least the teachers involved, which in turn are mothers. Students learned to behave more nicely with mothers / grandmothers have learned to bestow and provide unconditional affection. Mothers have realized that you can make someone happy with very little.

Are you available to help others to start or work on similar projects?:

Background Information

Barriers and Solutions (max. 1000 characters):
At first it was very hard to involve mothers in different activities because they refused to participate. Now mothers want to help all children, even those who are alone for various reasons. As coordinating teacher, I searched various activities to attract them skeptical mothers.
Future plans and wish list (max. 750 characters):
The proposed activities are: • Trunk memories • Timeless Art • fireside stories • Inherit from parent • Parent Soul • childhood games • Fashion yesterday and today • Project evaluation All project activities aimed at improving relations students-parents-teachers in that students will work in teams with their mothers under the direction of teachers.
