Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

Objectives and Innovative Aspects

In particolare:

- aumentata diffusione e comunicazione sull'Europa e sulle progettazioni correlati a specifici programmi

How many users interact with your project monthly and what are the preferred forms of interaction? (max. 500 characters):

What lessons can others learn from your project? (max. 1500 characters):

Background Information

Barriers and Solutions (max. 1000 characters):
Future plans and wish list (max. 750 characters):

Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

Disaster response to mass-casualty incidents represents one of the greatest challenges to a community's emergency response system. Rescuers, field medical personnel, and regional emergency departments and hospitals must often provide care to large numbers of casualties in a setting of limited resources, inadequate communication, misinformation, damaged infrastructure, and great personal risk.

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

Last year, Peru and other countries around the Pacific Ocean have been affected by the phenomenon known as El Nino, a rise in sea temperatures that increases evaporation and brings about heavy rains. In 1998 floods in Peru were also linked to El Nino, which was particularly strong that year.

Telehealth in Peru is becoming a reality, as in other countries in the region and the world, favoring access to health services at all levels of care, providing technological benefits, allowing a coordinated and immediate response of care, establishing a quick and accurate diagnosis in case of an emergency.

That is why, from MINSA (Ministry of Health of Peru), under the direction of the General Directorate of Telehealth has begun with telecapacitations at the national level. Focusing efforts on training health personnel in the regions affected by the Coastal Child.

In order to confront health emergencies due to the rains and floods in our country, the Health, Referral and Emergency Department of the Ministry of Health has been conducting telecapacitations nationwide.

The use of educational technology to make a difference provides integrity correctly in the hospitals using the corresponding application in different areas. Specialists are working to train health personnel in areas affected by disasters.

Tele-trainings for health personnel at the national level will continue and priority specialties are: infectious diseases, mental health, chronic diseases, telehealth and electronic clinical records.

Primary care is the doorway into the Peruvian public health system. On that level of care, personal health have a main role. As such, they can benefit from telehealth initiatives that bring them closer to specialists of other levels of care. We created with Ministery of Health in all in Peru a novel system (telecapacitations) using information and communication technology (ICT) to respond to a sudden shortage, and tested the system to determine whether it would compensate for a shortage after “Niño Costero”.

After introducing the system to train health personnel, the probability of learning in emergencies when there are no specialists increased. Therefore, the system of telecapacitations is helping considerably and also to create the telehealth units in their hospitals, health centers, medical posts among others.

Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

  • elementi di cittadinanza digitale consapevole;
  • verticalità dei percorsi, con approfondimenti e applicazioni dei saperi a contesti diversi ed autentici consolidando obiettivi interdisciplinari;
  • coworking e peer learning;
  • sviluppo delle life skills e dell’ecosistema individuale, con le tecnologie a supporto della formazione culturale (di cittadinanza);
  • competenze trasversali;
  • inclusione delle fasce deboli o a rischio marginalità e/o dispersione;
  • motivazione e coinvolgimento;
  • autoimprenditorialità.

Objectives and Innovative Aspects

Results

Describe the results achieved by your project How do you measure (parameters) these. (max. 2000 characters):
How many users interact with your project monthly and what are the preferred forms of interaction? (max. 500 characters):

What lessons can others learn from your project? (max. 1500 characters):

Background Information

Barriers and Solutions (max. 1000 characters):
Future plans and wish list (max. 750 characters):

Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

Mobile ICT training is an ICT training initiative that is aimed at equipping the young people with basic ICT knowledge and skills as a means for literacy improvement and human resource capacity-building, preparing them for future employment. The project targets rural underserved young people in rural areas of Nakaseke, in Central Uganda that have been left behind in terms of ICT skilling, thus bridging the digital informational gap between their counterparts in the urban centres.

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

Uganda developed its initial ICT national policy in 2003 in which the framework document recognized that the country needed to embrace the goal of lifelong education for all. The policy also addresses literacy improvement and human resource capacity-building with strategies that include integrating ICT into mainstream educational curricula as well as other literacy programmes to provide for equitable access for all students regardless of level. Efforts have been made to introduce ICT both in primary and secondary schools of Uganda so as to equip learners with the necessary skills and tools that would prepare them for the job market.

Although the country’s national ICT policy lays emphasis on providing infrastructure to schools, this has not yet been realized mainly in rural schools as the adoption level is still low.

There have been hindrances ranging from low income to support the programme, limited power supply to rural schools, shortage of ICT teachers and many others. Irrespective of these challenges, the government has moved on to make ICT education as one of the compulsory subsidiary subjects at secondary levels of education. It is a very big challenge to many rural students and schools as they can’t afford to own computers as their counterparts in urban schools which has created a digital divide among the rural and urban students.

It is behind this background that the Nakaseke Rural Youth Sustainable Livelihoods Initiative was established. The project is conducting an ICT training programme to rural schools and communities to help them acquire skills as a means for literacy improvement and human resource capacity-building in rural areas.

The Nakaseke Rural Youth Sustainable Livelihoods Initiative, a rural youth project that also runs other community development programmes on agriculture and health, started with 3 laptop computers that we used to carry out training. As of now, the project has grown and boasts of 15 mobile computers that can at least accommodate the average class population of 60 students at a ratio of about 4:1. Our project has a committed, competent and experienced training team of trainers with a very rich expertise in conducting and managing ICT training classes. Each day of the week, the team moves to the different schools and communities as per the training schedules. The training involves both theory and practical tailor made lessons.

Results

Describe the results achieved by your project How do you measure (parameters) these. (max. 2000 characters):
We have achieved a number of successes; 1. Since its establishment two years back, the programme has benefited over nine hundred (900) students and out of school youths from the community, among which many have been employed and others have started their own business centres. 2. We have continued to register an overwhelming number of students offering the subject however much it’s a new subject on the national curriculum, to especially rural learners. 3. We have also helped to improve on the way teachers deliver their lessons. We have organized special trainings for them to equip them with skills on how to effectively use ICT tools to simplify their teaching methods. 4. At instructional level, we have been able to help students understand how to use computers to improve their learning using e-resources like Encarta and the Encyclopedia that have added to their general better performance. We have done various assessments and we are keenly monitoring our learners to see their continuity with ICT. We have also been able to find job placement for a number of our youth trainees from our community as our main goal for empowering rural young people for future employment.
How many users interact with your project monthly and what are the preferred forms of interaction? (max. 500 characters):

We usually interact with over 200 young people on a monthly basis.

These we meet them during our school training programmes around the community schools and at our local training hub. We also reach others online through our online platform and by short messages (sms) direct to their mobile phones.

Background Information

Barriers and Solutions (max. 1000 characters):
1. First, rural communities had a bad attitude towards technology which required a lot of sensitization for mindset change of our communities. 2. Startup equipment and facilities like hardware. Such equipment is still very expensive in Uganda and this required much investment with no external support. 3. Frequent hardware and software breakdowns that require replacements and routine maintenance. 4. Unstable or completely no power supply to rural communities has greatly affected our lessons at some point, as computer power runs out and the alternative is costly to maintain. 5. Poor transport infrastructure has also greatly affected our programme and this has caused hardware breakdowns. 6. There is limited access and connectivity to the internet. Many times, we have failed to conduct internet-related lessons such as web design, email and internet searching, due to poor connectivity. Among the many challenges we have, we are trying to make strides to solve some of them. 1. We are seriously trying to partner with government to increase on the hardware equipment we have for better access. 2. We have trained a well qualified technical team to help us with hardware and software breakdowns. 3. We have started engaging our local government to support our cause to improve transport and electricity infrastructure in the rural areas we operate in. 4. We are already hopeful about the government's effort to move the internet backbone around most rural areas which will improve the connectivity.
Future plans and wish list (max. 750 characters):
1. Considering the ever increasing demand for ICT training services, we are aiming at increasing our reach to further rural young people so as to give them equal opportunities to access and get skilled. 2. We are also looking forward to adding more and better training equipment to accommodate the ever increasing demand for the service. (like projectors, computers and other digital gadgets) 3. We are planning to start up ICT training camps during school breaks (holidays) to equip more youths who may not be beneficiaries of our routine schools outreaches with skills. 4. We have plans of establishing a fully-fledged vocational training centre that will offer mainly ICT training and other developmental courses and programmes in order to equip the young generation with skills that would contribute to sustainable livelihoods. 5. We are eagerly looking forward to partner with global players of ICT to increase and improve our skilling program. 6. We also hope to spread the idea to other rural communities to give chance to many more young people around the country.

Barriers and Solutions (max. 1000 characters):
ACCORDING TO THE MYNEIGHBOURHOOD VISION, A NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO USE ICT TO PROVIDE UNIQUE SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS TO ENHANCE THEIR EXPERIENCE AND WELLBEING. THE EMPHASIS IS ON MAKING “EFFECTIVE USE” OF ICT, PROVIDING SERVICES THAT ARE DESIRED BY RESIDENTS AND INVOLVING THEM IN THEIR MANAGEMENT. HOWEVER, THE LACK OF ACCESS TO ICT WITHIN LOCAL COMMUNITIES, IN PARTICULAR WITHIN ELDER PERSONS, HAS BEEN A MAJOR CRITICAL DIMENSION OF SOME PILOT ACTIONS AIMED AT PROVIDING “DIGITAL TOOLS” TO ENCOURAGE COMMUNITY INTERACTIONS AND SERVICE DELIVERY. 10 TO OVERCOME THIS OBSTACLE, THE PROJECT TEAM HAS MOVED IN THE DIRECTION TO CREATE A LOCAL NETWORK OF “TOUCHPOINTS” AIMED AT SUPPORTING ELDERS IN ACCESS THE MEALS BOOKING SERVICE AND ALSO AT PROVIDING BASIC PACKAGES OF ICT TRAINING TO THOSE INTERESTED IN SUCH AN OPPORTUNITY. LOCAL ASSOCIATIONS THAT COPE WITH ELDER CITIZENS IN THE AREA MANAGE THE TOUCHPOINTS. MOREOVER, THE TEAM HAS FORESEEN A BOTTOM-UP DESIGN COMPONENTS OF THE MYNEIGHBOURHOOD PLATFORM, IN ORDER TO AVOID THE RISK OF MISUNDERSTAND THE NEEDS AND INTEREST OF IMPACTED COMMUNITIES.

THE ALREADY EXISTING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE MUNICIPALITY AND VILL@PERTA (THE UMBRELLA ASSOCIATION, KEEPING TOGETHER MANY OF THE ASSOCIATIONS ACTING THERE) IS THE DEMONSTRATION FOR THIS VISION TO BECOME AN OPERATIONAL REALITY. QUARTOGIARDINO: THE PARETO SCHOOL IS CURRENTLY IN CHARGE OF THE MAINTENANCE OF THE VIA DE ROBERTO GREEN AREAS FOR 2 YEARS TO COME. A SMALL STEP IS STILL TO BE DONE TOWARDS A MORE STRUCTURED SERVICE THAT BRINGS OTHER SCHOOLS OR PRIVATE ACTORS TO ADOPT THE SAME MODEL WITHIN THE ALREADY EXISTING SERVICE “ADOPT A FLOWER BED” OF THE MUNICIPALITY. BOTH THE SERVICES ARE FULLY CONSISTENT WITH THE SHARING ECONOMY APPROACH ADOPTED BY THE DEPUTY ON INNOVATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY WHOSE UNIT IS IN CHARGE OF MYN PROJECT.

Objectives and Innovative Aspects

Ho 34 anni.

Results

Describe the results achieved by your project How do you measure (parameters) these. (max. 2000 characters):

Barriers and Solutions (max. 1000 characters):
Future plans and wish list (max. 750 characters):

Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

The partnership aim is to give students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and
understanding of different subjects such as sustainable development, history, art and culture of the
region they live in, multimedia documents production and editing, planning and management of an
open source website, international team cooperation.

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

We want to develop understanding among students and educational staff of the diversity of European cultures and languages and its value. All this goals will be accomplished building a website to document some cycling routes. This website will be useful to anyone interested in cycling and in the future it would be possible for other schools to join the web community and update the site with new cycling routes documentation. We would like to cooperate with people from other countries on the theme of sustainable development, that for its importance and complexity can’t be limited and faced at national level. Through the participation in the European cooperation we hope to promote cycling among young people, and, through the dissemination of the documentation produced, to raise the interest of
local communities on the importance of planning and designing cycle paths.
We want to involve students, teachers and scholastic communities in the development of products that are not limited to educational fields, but that cross the boundaries of scholastic and national areas to be available to everyone in the European Union. We think that working together on common and real problems is the best way to know and meet different cultures and scholastic systems.
Students will have a central role in all activities. They will have to plan the cycling route, gathering information on flora, fauna, climate, historical and artistic points of interest in the region, try it and describe it with special attention to critical passages, and get all the photographic documentation.
They will be responsible for the translation of all provided documentation into English and for the updating of the website.
They will evaluate documentation provided by students of partner schools by trying the described routes, during the scheduled exchanges. They present and discuss their results in international groups during the meetings and online conferences.

Objectives and Innovative Aspects

Concrete objectives of the partnership and subjects or problems we intend to address:
- Environmental education through promoting the use of clean and healthy transportation and sustainable development both for daily purposes and for tourism;
- Promoting cultural exchange, language learning and linguistic diversity through the website pages in English and the different partner languages, and through the students’ and teachers’ exchanges when trying the different routes;
- Promoting cooperation through gathering and organizing in proper documentation morphological,
geological, botanical, climatic, historical and artistic information;
- Supporting the development of innovative ICT-based content, working with the freedom to cooperate with each other, which is the aim of open source projects’ philosophy;
- Promoting creativity, personal fulfilment and the growth of an entrepreneurial spirit through developing a website as a platform to document the cycling paths in Europe, to be used not only by students but by all citizens within the European community.

Approach we take to achieve our objectives:
Each member school forms a group of 30 students aged 16-19, from different classes, and at least two teachers, with good knowledge of English, acting as supervisors. Different class origin of the students is helpful in spreading through pupils the results of the partnership, as peer education is often more efficient in disseminating experiences and information.
Each website page can be updated easily, and for each one is expected a manager who will be responsible for the document loaded. At the end of the project we hope to have achieved an increased awareness not only of our individual responsibility for our own health and environment, but also of the importance of European cooperation.

Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

The project brings several cultures together through similar students and teachers interest which is robotics. Thanks to our project we want to demonstrate that technology becomes a common language spoken worldwide.

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

The immediate need for starting the international cooperation and writing the project was one of the objectives of the Comenius Programme, such as development of young people of our schools in different areas of education, the desire to understand other cultures and establish new friendships based on common interests. The project should discover in young people the need to absorb knowledge from different domains. It means that technicians should create a community not limited to technical-oriented subjects but have good general knowledge on European countries, their traditions, history, politics.
We are convinced that thanks to technology it is possible to make students of different ages, education and backgrounds work together. It means that thanks to the project students will broaden their educational horizons, focus not only on technology and science (robotics, physics, mathematics, mechanics, programming, multimedia production, website creation, etc.) but also acquire additional knowledge which are the humanities (foreign languages, history, culture, arts, civics, geography and even theology and sociology). It also means they will have a chance to become broadly educated and to create a society of technical intelligence.
All those goals will be accomplished through common action, e.g. building a website, preparing documentation and works (on robotics, European culture, traditions, etc. ), communication between partners, mobilities, visiting interesting places. Teachers of different subjects (technical and general) are engaged. Students of technical schools teach their colleagues the principles of robotics. There are six partners involved in the project (Poland, Italy, Portugal, Estonia, Lithuania, Spain), the language of communication is English.
The project assumes evaluation on students and teachers level and also dissemination of the results.

Project Description

Description Frase (max. 500 characters):

The project aims to involve students and teachers in a partnership with the characteristics of a modern international enterprise, to prepare new generation to the challenge of the actual labour market. The partners bring their different skills (Mechanics and Electronics Poland, Informatics and Artificial Intelligence Italy) in an international cooperation with the clear goal to develop a robot to take part in the RoboCup Junior 2016 in two years.

Project Summary (max. 2000 characters):

The immediate need for starting the international cooperation and writing the project is one of the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme, such as development of young people of our schools in different areas of education, the desire to understand other cultures and establish new friendships based on common interests, the necessity of promoting the take-up of practical entrepreneurial experiences in young people.
Also the willing to increase our effort in the Robotics engagement, as our schools have been working in this field for years in different direction. Now the students and teachers desire is to take part to the Worldwide RoboCup junior 2016. As in our schools there are not all the necessary resources to develop a complete robot, for example the Italian partner school has not a Mechanics department, we decided to look for partners abroad, aiming at a double challenge: the Robotics competition and, on the other side, the challenge to work with people far away from us, like in the modern globalized labour market. So we decided to achieve that giving us the structure of a modern international enterprise, studying the laws that regulate them, and following the normal procedure followed to manage an international project.
The partners bring their different skills (Mechanics and Electronics Poland, Informatics and Artificial Intelligence Italy) in an international cooperation with the clear goal to develop a robot to take part in the RoboCup Junior 2016 in two years.
To obtain this result students will be involved in all the steps necessary to set up and manage a company in their country and a joint venture with two EU co-venturers.
Teachers of different subjects are engaged. Students with different skills and age work together. There are two partners involved in the project, Italy and Poland Italy, the language of communication is English.

Objectives and Innovative Aspects

The main objectives our project is focused on, are:
-introduce students to the typical structure of a modern international enterprise;
-give them the chance to appreciate the importance of English;
-let them take part in a challenge with people with a common goal, as it happens to people in society or work framework, trying to make students more responsible;
-give teacher the chance to start working with CLIL.
- acquire Robotics skills.
Our schools already have Robotics clubs, students already take part to Robotics competitions, they have curricular lesson on Robotics. But with this project they can realize that a long term plan and an organization is necessary to reach an important goal and appreciate the need of rules and responsibility inside a group to make the group work. They can also learn to get acquainted with laws and procedures needed to set up a national and international company and try to set up the work environment. With this project they can be aware of the reason for joining far away living people to overcome difficulties and reach a goal and fully appreciate and experiment several aspects of working together in an international environment.

The core of the project is setting up an enterprise, so we follow the typical way of working of the productive world. Any partner sets up a company with its organizational chart, with specific tasks and responsibility for any students taking part in the project. Pupils have to take care of the different aspects of management and planning and production, teachers act as supervisors and guides. Students work is supervised by local coordinators. Students exchange information through modern means of transmission (telephony-including VoIP tech., Skype), video conferencing, email, instant messaging, website. Cooperation will be obtained also with frequent access to the website itself, which will become the place where students and teachers virtually meet and work together.

Results

Describe the results achieved by your project How do you measure (parameters) these. (max. 2000 characters):
We want to produce two robots per each partner to take part in the 2016 World RoboCup Junior. The website will show how to set up a company to young people interested in it. The material of the courses attended by students (SS) and teachers (TS) (how to set up a national enterprise, how to set up a joint venture in the UE, technical courses) will be published on the project website. RESULTS: 2014 September-December Project website first release, E-Twinning platform creation, Project boards created at school. Team and calendar. How to set up a national enterprise (course). Creation of the National Enterprise and roles of SS. Project proposals of the robot. Evaluation Report. Photo gallery and a diary of the first meeting. Intercultural dialogue and awareness. Websites posts. 2015 January-June Websites posts. SS reports of the first meeting results in their classes. Material of the course on how to Manage a CMS website. Evaluation report. Photo gallery and a diary of the meeting. SS report of the second meeting results in their classes. Articles in local newspapers. Increased feeling of belonging to a common European society and culture. Project corner exhibition. Robot Tests uploaded to the website. Material of Mechanics and Electronics Robotics development Course uploaded to the website. Photo gallery and a diary of the meeting.Video published in Youtube. Articles in local newspapers. We will use as indicators: - the respect of the deadlines of tasks implementation; - meeting questionnaires and diaries; - students involvement; - task results, acquired knowledge on robotics, company management; - online questionnaire. The project website will include an anonymous questionnaire with a box to enter comments; - the outcomes are produced and they are valuable.
