ANPPCAN THROUGH ITS DESCENT AND FREE EDUCATION PROGRAMMES IN AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE NETWORKING AMONG STAKEHOLDERS OF THE THINKING FUTURE KEEPING GIRLS IN SCHOOL PROJECT HAS SUCCESSFULLY INTRODUCED THE SOCIAL NETWORKING PACKAGE THAT ENSURES THAT GIRLS THROUGH THEIR PATRONS IN SCHOOLS CAN HAVE ACCESS TO SOCIAL MEDIA AND ARE ALLOCATED TIME TO USE THE PHONES SO AS TO EXPRESS AND COMMUNICATE ALL FORMS OF ABUSE AND NEGLECT. THIS PLATFOM CREATES A CONJUCIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AS WELL AS INFOMATION SHARING PLATFORM. THIS PROJECT IS BEING IMPLEMENTED BY THE ANPPCAN STAFF THROUGH THE PATRONS IN DIFFENT SCHOOLS AND HAS MOTIVATED MANY STUDENTS THROUH SHARING OF EXPERIENCES AND INTERACTION WITH OTHERS.

SEVERAL BARRIES AFFECT EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION IN SCHOOLS RESULTING IN MORE CASES OF ABUSE AND NEGLECT AS SOME OF THE PERPETRATORS INTERNTIONALLY CAUSE COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN AND OR DISTORT CHANNELS OF COMMUNICATION ON THE OTHER HAND SOCIAL NETWORKING CAN ELIMINATE ALL FORMS OF ABUSE AND COMMUNICATION BARRIES AS EACH GIRL HAS EQUAL ACCESS TO THE GROUP PHONE AND CAN FREELY COMMUNICATE TO EVERPRESENT STAFF, VOLUNTEER OR FRIEND AND CAN DELETE THEREAFTER IF THEY FEEL INSECURE. THEREFORE THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE PACKAGE WAS  TO PROVIDE AT LEAST A PHONE PER SCHOOL MANAGED BY THE TEACHER MENTOR AND AVAILABLE TO EVERY BENEFICIARY ON STIPULATED TIME . SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES INCLUDE: TO PROMOTE RIGHTS’ EDUCATION AS A BASIC RIGHT FOR EVERY MALAWIAN CHILD; TO CONVENE AND PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL, REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL FORUMS DEALING WITH THE PROMOTION OF RIGHTS FOR ALL; TO INITIATE, AND CONDUCT, SITUATION ANALYSIS ON THE STATE AND NATURE OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT; TO ACCOMPLISH THE WORK BUILT UPON FEMINIST VALUES TOWARD THE FULL EQUALITY OF WOMEN, CHILDREN AND HUMAN RIGHTS OF ALL PEOPLE. THIS INCLUDES WORK TOWARDS THE ERADICATION OF ALL DISCRIMINATION BASED ON GENDER, SEXUALITY, RELIGION, AGE, ABILITY, ETHNICITY, LANGUAGE, NATIONALITY, CLASS OR OTHER FACTORS. TO WORK AS A PART OF NETWORKS THAT ADVOCATE FOR COLLECTIVE VOICE, POWER AND INFLUENCE AGAINST CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT, AS WELL AS ANY FORM OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. TO PROVIDE A FORUM THAT ENABLES THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION ON THE PROBLEMS AFFECTING CHILDREN IN MALAWI.

IMPROVED ATTENDENCY AND A SIGNIFICANT FALL IN DROPUOUT RATE THIS IS REPORTED BY TEACHERS THROUGH CLASS REGISTERS OF ATTENEDNCE. IMPROVED CLASS PERFOMANCE LEADING TO A CONJUICIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENT, THE USE OF AUDIO-VISUAL IMPRESSION IS A MAJOR TOOL FOR EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING IN DEVELOPING MALAWI AS THIS IMPROVE FOCUS, ATTENTION, STIMULATES INTEREST, PARTICIPATION AND MOTIVATION IN GENERAL. THIS ALSO EXPOSES OTHER BARRIERS TO SUCCESS, OTHER FORMS OF ABUSE AND NEGLECT AS EVERY STUDENT HAS THE RIGHT AND TIME TO FREELY EXPRESS THEIR VIEWS WITHOUT FEAR AND OR FAVOUR. THIS GENERALLY LOWERS COSTS AT THE SAME TIME PROVIDING FIRST HAND INFORMATION WHICH IS VITAL IN DECISION MAKING. THIS INITIATIVE BEFENIFTS MALAWI AT LARGE BECAUSE OF POOR INFRASTRUCTURE MEANING IT BROADENS THE INFOMATION BASE AS WELL AS DOING AWAY WITH CASES OF ABUSE AND NEGLECT.

THE PROJECT IS FOR EVERY STAKEHOLDER OF THE ORGANISATION ON A MONTHLY BASIS, APROXIMATELY 2000     USERS ARE EITHER DIRECTLY OR INDERCTLY INVOLVED IN SOCIAL NETWORKING BECAUSE THE STUDENT HAS THAT RIGHT TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL THEY FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH.

DROPOUT RATE CAN BE MINIMISED IF INFORMATION IS MADE AVAILABLE AND ACCESSIBLE TO ALL IN A SIMPLIFIED AND UNDERSTANDABLE WAYS. EVERY VALNERABLE OF MARGINALISED PERSON IS WILLING AND ABLE TO CHANGE AS LONG AS THE BASIC NEEDS OF OUR EVERYDAY LIFE ARE PROVIDED. THERE IS NEED FOR COORDINATION OF ACTIVITIES BY STAKEHOLDERS PERSUING THE SAME GOAL FOR EFFECTIVE RESULTS. FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION IS FACILITATED BY CHOICE OF THE RIGHT MEDIA AND THIS ALSO IMPROVES ON COMMUNICATION AND MOTIVATION.

SOME OF THE ENTRUSTED PATRONS LIKE TEACHERS HAVE BEN IN SOME CASES BEEN REPORTED TO BE PERPETRATORS OF ABUSE IN SEVERAL SCHOOLS AND THE GENERAL LACK OF SUPPORT, HOWEVER ANPPCAN IS MOVING TOWARDS INVOLVING MORE FEMALE TEACHERS TO BE THE TEACHER MENTOR IN THE GIRLS PROGRAM. LACK OF COOPERATION AND COORDINATION OF ACTIVITIES BY OTHER STAKEHOLDERS THIS HOWEVER HAS BEEN MINIMISED BY TRAINING AND AWARENESS CAMPAINGS. THERE IS INFORMATION DISTORTION AND SOME OF THE INFORMATION IS TEMPERED WITH SO THAT THE MEANING OR INTENTION CAN BE COMPLETELY CHANGED IN SOME CIRCUMSTANCES.

INCLUSION OF PARENTS OR GUARDIANS THROUGH THE MOTHER SUPPORT GROUP INITIATIVE THAT FOCUSES ON ENTREPREUNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT TO HELP PROVIDE BASIC NEEDS TO THE BENEFICIARIES AT HOUSEHOLD LEVEL. THERE IS ALSO NEED FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF A COMPUTER LAB AND EVERY STUDENT SHOULD HAVE ACCESS FOR RESEACH AND TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESS. TO GIVE EACH VOLUNTEER A PERSONAL MOBILE PHONE FOR COMMUNICATION PURPOSES,
