The Reedoc.com didactic platform is one of the projects participating in the 8th edition of the Global Junior Challenge. Created in 2014 to provide schools and families with an innovative STEM education service, the platform has become Italy’s largest Mathematics Gym.
The Redooc Platform, which is available for all scholastic levels and programmes, aims to provide a new method for learning and teaching, whilst monitoring activities and results.
Mathematics (as well as Physics, Sciences and Economics) is revisited through an innovative approach based both on content (i.e., videos, cartoons, natural language, concept explanations based on everyday life, …) and function (i.e., interactive exercises explained step by step, scores, rankings) to make subjects traditionally considered boring and complicated more attractive.
The over 1200 lessons on the platform are organised by contents, theory, notes and exercises. Students have a profile that logs all their activity (videos watched, exercises with scores, total score, status and ranking). Professors’ profiles allow them to supervise class activities and results, as well as individual students, analyse strengths and weaknesses, and assign class and homework.
Project Redooc.com has a vast social impact. It radically revolutionises educational methods, placing students at the centre and promoting the role of professors to convince students that no one is “innately gifted” and that Mathematics and all STEM subjects are a great sport for anyone!
