Si pensa ad un’evoluzione di questi anni dove attraverso una l’utilizzo di una stampante 3D si possibile creare degli arti artificiali in grado di essere azionati facilmente da persone meno fortunate. Le necessità saranno essenzialmente strumentali e finanziarie, stimando una spesa di 30.000 €.

Il progetto è nato come esercitazione di elettronica e automazione e l’idea è sorta agli studenti che si chiedevano se fosse possibile integrare alcune operazioni, per impartire dei movimenti ad una mano robotica con l’utilizzo dei sensori e una coppia di trasmettitore-ricevitore. Al progetto lavora uno studente Anselmi Gabriele con i loro insegnanti.

Everything started when little cousin broke his RC car and aunt asked do i need any of the parts found in there, i said that whole car could be re-used and then i got the car. I putted in big battery, lights, Arduino, H-bridge, Bluetooth module and some sensors.

I ragazzi possono capire i loro interessi, le loro capacità e il successivo inserimento nel mondo del lavoro, ma soprattutto mirare a un successo scolastico che spesso non accade per scelte errate, con il conseguente abbandono del corso di studi.

Inserimento dei giovani nel mondo del lavoro

Obiettivo principale è stato quello di dare ai ragazzi di terza media la concreta conoscenza di una delle attività che si svolgono nella nostra scuola.
I ragazzi hanno avuto modo di incontrarsi e confrontarsi, lavorando in gruppo, di pomeriggio al di fuori dell’orario scolastico, nel laboratorio di Sistemi Elettronici del Ferraris.
Durante le fasi di lavoro i ragazzi hanno avuto la possibilità di fare con le proprie mani un dispositivo complesso anche senza conoscere la tecnologia sofisticata che lo costituiva.
L’attività è stata incentrata sulla tecnica e modalità del problem solving.
Quest’attività non solo ha migliorato la manualità dei ragazzi, attraverso l’impiego dei materiali e strumenti specifici, ma ha anche stimolato la curiosità dei ragazzi, sviluppando in essi la consapevolezza delle proprie capacità, del loro interesse verso la materia tecnica e delle proprie vocazioni personali.
Presso la scuola media sono stati organizzati dei seminari sulla realizzazione e funzionamento di Guido.
I “ grandi” sono stati i tutor dei “piccoli “, i quali si sono sentiti protagonisti nel poter manovrare loro stessi Guido.

Un aspetto molto importante e di riscontro di quest’attività è stato l’elevato numero dei ragazzi della scuola media che insieme ai loro genitori sono venuti a visitare il nostro ITIS, durante l’Open Day e le loro successive iscrizioni al primo anno. Questa iniziativa, in un complesso territorio di periferia qual è l’area nord di Napoli, ha permesso ai ragazzi di essere indirizzati, grazie al ruolo di una didattica orientativa efficace, verso la scelta consapevole della scuola da frequentare, per proseguire il processo educativo e formativo e facilitare il successivo inserimento nel mondo del lavoro.

Il progetto Guido nasce dalla collaborazione in partnership tra l’Istituto G. Ferraris e la S.M.S. Guarano di Melito (Napoli) come attività di orientamento scolastico.
In particolare il progetto è stato pensato e realizzato dai responsabili dell’orientamento delle rispettive scuole.
Si tratta di un prototipo di un muletto in scatola di montaggio, della casa costruttrice Fischertechnik robot x training lab, messo a disposizione dalla scuola media e assemblato con il supporto tecnico dei ragazzi del terzo e quinto anno del corso di elettronica dell’ITIS Ferraris.
Quest’attività ha suscitato molto interesse fra i ragazzi al di sopra di ogni aspettativa, tanto che hanno ideato e realizzato l’estetica del robot, che si rifà a Guido, uno dei personaggi dei cartoni animati delle Cars, da cui il nome del progetto.
Gli allievi, dopo non poche difficoltà, hanno installato su di un cellulare un’applicazione scaricata dal web, che ha trasformato lo smartphone in un telecomando. Ruotando e inclinando lo smartphone, in un raggio di azione di 150 metri, hanno avuto il controllo totale del robot.
Il progetto Guido è stato presentato alla Romecup 2015 ricevendo molti apprezzamenti.

Conoscenze acquisite: basi fisiche e matematiche delle tecnologie di misura ed acquisizione di dati. Grandezze fisiche di importanza per la robotica: intensità luminosa, distanza, campi elettrici e magnetici, elaborazione delle immagini . Gli allievi di tutti gli indirizzi hanno realizzato il software di acquisizione dei dati (utilizzando processori system on a chip), comunicazione (utilizzando standardbluetooth) ed elaborazione (utilizzando NI LabView). Competenze acquisite: Individuare i trasduttori più adeguati e le relative procedure di calibrazione. progettare e montare fisicamente 4 robot . Realizzare e collaudare i circuiti elettronici. misurare una grandezza fisica, calibrare uno strumento, analizzare gli errori e interpretare i dati raccolti. Utilizzare le tecniche matematiche e informatiche di elaborazione di grandi quantità di dati. Elaborare modelli fisico-matematici di fenomeni naturali. Prove sul campo effettuate: Verifica del funzionamento della piattaforma robotizzata e presentazione del progetto presso l’ITI Galileo di Roma in occasione di RomeCup. Partecipa zione ai mondiali di ROboCUp 2014 in Brasile dove abbiamo ottenuto il primo posto nella categoria Soccer SuperTeam.

Gli obiettivi del progetto, consistenti nella realizzazione di 4 robot per partecipare alle selezioni di RomeCup collegati via wireless, sono stati raggiunti nonostante il forte ritardo nella approvazione .
Questo ritardo ha obbligato a lavorare sotto pressione ed in condizioni non ottimali soprattutto per quanto riguardo la tempestività nell’approvvigionamento dei materiali e la messa a punto del SW.

Sono state svolte 30 ore pomeridiane di lezione secondo le seguenti fasi di lavoro:
1. scelta delle misure e delle tecniche di misurazione, progettazione meccanica, elettronica e SW(dicembre 2014).
2. montaggio e collaudo dei dispositivi e del SW(gennaio-febbraio 2015).
3. effettuazione di misure sul campo e collaudo definitivo dei sistema(marzo-aprile 2015)

Interest to students to the world of robotics and automation with advanced a practical approach.
The said targets have been possible thanks to both the components and the development environment
chosen: the first were the Lego™ Mindstorms mechatronic components, which offered high availability and
low price; while, to program the embedded platform “NI MyRIO”, it has been used NI LabVIEW, the
National Instruments’ graphic environment. This combination offers an instinctive, powerful and reliable
way to do didactic automation.
Moreover, the Lego™ Mindstorms products offered large range of hardware components, like sensors,
actuators and structural mechanic pieces, at a low price. Therefore it permitted to quickly assemble and
overhaul different prototypes of robots or, generally, automation systems, thus eliminating the problems
resulting from expensive and complex mechanical machining processes.

Principali ostacoli sono stati di tipo economico: risorse finanziarie per completare l'attrezzatura inizialmente prevista (finziamento ricevuto solo per il 40% di quanto preventivato ed inizialmente richiesto). Mancanza di fondi per pagare trasferte agli allievi ed ai docenti coinvolti. Impossibilità di pagare il presnonale tecnico per realizzare componenti ed attrezzature "custom". Impossibilità di pagare il personale ausiliario dell'Istituto per avere una copertura pomeridiana oltre le 17:00. Difficoltà di trovare sponsor nel territorio per estendere l'iniziativa ad altre realtà. Al fine di superare questi limiti stiamo cercando visibilità commerciale, attreverso il partner aziendale IRS Srl di Padova, al fine di commercializzare la piattaforma hardware e software così sviluppata.

"my Robot Sensor Kit - myRSK" is an project which dealt with the complex theme of the robotics and automation, through a series of didactic experiences.
This project aim at the diffusion of technical and scientific culture in the field of automation and robotics, using Lego Mindstorms Robot and intelligence-based PC in Embedded Real Time with NI FPGA programmed with LabView. It has been a cooperation between didactics and industrial fields, purposing to create a hardware and software platform for the “research and educational” area, which allows to elaborate advanced automation controls in a simple and instinctive way.

“My Robot Sensor Kit” is an extracurricular project which dealt with the complex theme of the robotics and
automation, through a series of didactic experiences.
The said targets have been possible thanks to both the components and the development environment
chosen: the first were the Lego™ Mindstorms mechatronic components, which offered high availability and
low price; while, to program the embedded platform “NI MyRIO”, it has been used NI LabVIEW, the
National Instruments’ graphic environment. This combination offers an instinctive, powerful and reliable
way to do didactic automation.
The project was launched during the 2013‐14 AY by the technical institute ITI “F. Severi” (prof. Alessandro Scroccaro), homed in Padua, and supported by I.R.S. S.r.l. Padova and National Instruments Italy Srl (ing. Massimo Rapini). It was presented for the first time during the “NIDays” in Milan on 12th March 2015.
Thanks to the project, the school won a funding of 20 000€ by the scholastic education and research
ministry (MIUR). The amount has entirely been investedinto equipment for the automation and the
mechatronics laboratories, thus enabling an ever‐increasing number of students to take part in the project
in future.
During the past academic year (2014‐15 AY), the project has seen the active participation of five
enterprising and deserving students, chosen from the last year (5th) and among three different courses of
the secondary school. Now the project is developed at the institute F. Severi and at other technicians institute, who have adopted this platform hardware and software.
