Just one more month and we will know who the winners of the 5th edition of the Global Junior Challenge are, but all finalists [1] will be able to exhibit their work at the final event [2]on October 7-8 (Rome, Itis Galilei).

This will be a precious opportunity for organizations, schools, agencies and associations to meet, extend partnerships and participate in seminars with leading international experts on issues such as the digital divide and social inclusion.

Finalist projects come from 30 different countries. Among the finalist projects selected by the International Jury [3], there are many Italian schools that presented more than 50 projects - both individually and in partnerships - through territorial networks and on-line platforms for sharing work.

Three projects come from territories that require a strong acceleration to come closer to the Millennium Objectives [4]: Burkina Faso [5], Uganda [6] and Zambia [7]. In these countries, the indicators for human development [8] are at the bottom of the list, but youth have taken their country’s destiny into their hands and are strategically exploiting technology to fight poverty and inequality.

Including the present edition, our jury experts have examined over 2500 projects from all around the world and more than 24,000 individuals from 70 countries, have participated in the final event exhibition, award ceremony and meetings.

The www.e-inclusionsite.org [9] site received over two and a half million clicks to finance projects in the poorest countries.
