Eight Italian projects are amongst the 145 finalists [1] of the prestigious international award for the development of new technologies. The 2008 edition of the Stockholm Challenge Award has 6 categories: Culture, Economic Development, Education, Environment, Health and Public Administration.

 
Two of these projects were awarded the Special President of the Republic Award at the Global Junior Challenge [2] 2007 reserved for projects presented by Italian schools. These are Maths to Play presented by the Liceo Classico E. Duni of Matera and Living in Europe: highlands and lowlands presented by the Istituto Ada Negri of Lodi Vecchio.
 

The Stockholm Challenge Award [3] takes place in Stockholm (Sweden) from May 19-22, 2008. The finalist projects have been invited to attend the awards ceremony that will take place at the Stockholm City Hall, where the Noble Prizes are assigned.
